Cold brew coffee – every day, all year round. Meet Mode Cold Brew!
Mode Cold Brew’s cold brew coffee is hot right now. For the first time, hot coffee sales in Sweden have begun to decline, while cold brew is selling more and more. We took a coffee break with entrepreneurs Fabian Wendt and Filippa Kalborg in Ark’s A kitchen.
Hi Fabian and Filippa! Tell us more about Mode Cold Brew?
Mode Cold Brew was started because we were tired of chemical energy drinks. We’re passionate about making coffee smarter, so that more young people can get fitter and feel better naturally! The drinks on the market to helps us get going in the morning often leave us with a bitter aftertaste – not to mention chemical ingredients, sugar crashes and upset stomachs. We always brew our 100% Arabica beans for 24 hours in cold filtered water, to bring out all the things you love about coffee, but without the drawbacks.
For those who don’t already know the benefits of cold brew, besides the great taste, it is 100% natural and unsweetened, kinder to the stomach and has more caffeine than traditional brewed coffee.
It took hundreds of tests and years to go from idea to finished product and today they are proud of their cold brew concentrate. Their 100% Arabica beans are carefully selected from Brazil and Mexico and brewed in cold filtered water for 24 hours to give a delicious, smooth, nutty and chocolatey flavor with no bitterness. Simply mix 1:1 with water and top with your favorite milk to taste.
What coffee trends do you predict for 2025?
Cold brew iced latte swirls, which are the contemporary version of the lava lamp. A trend driven by Gen Z and Millennials, mainly via TikTok, which will continue this year.

Strangest coffee you’ve tried?
A few years ago, I tried making a cold brew of Kopi Luwak, the infamous coffee where the beans first pass through the digestive system of the Indonesian raccoon. The result? Let’s just say it was… an interesting experience. But hardly something that would end up on a menu! – Fabian Wendt
My strangest cup must have been when I lived in Brazil and tried the different home brews of the local coffee farmers in Minas Gerais. – Filippa Kalborg
What is your best recipe for a winter coffee?
Espresso Martinis but with cold brew instead, for a tastier fresher flavor!
