Film: The Goonies – dödskallegänget
En ung Josh Brolin och en ännu yngre Sean Astin är bröder i täten för kompisgänget ”The Goonies”. De hittar en gammal karta som kanske visar vägen till en spansk 1600-talsskatt, men råkar tyvärr även korsa vägar med den kriminella familjen Fratelli. En Indiana Jones för barn producerad av Steven Spielberg.

Bröderna Mikey och Brandon Walsh vill inte flytta från sitt hem och sina vänner i kompisgänget ”The Goonies”, men de har inget val då det ska byggas en golfbana där de bor. Enda sättet att förhindra byggplanerna är snabbt skaffa pengar, vilket känns föga troligt – tills de av en slump hittar en karta som sägs leda till den ökända piraten ”One-Eyed” Willys skatt. Dessvärre verkar skatten ligga i dödsfälleminerade tunnlar under en stängd restaurang i stadens utkant, som numer är tillhåll för den kriminella familjen Frattelli.
Goonies – Dödskallegänget är regisserad av Richard Donner (Superman – the Movie, 1978) och skriven av Chris Columbus (de första två Harry Potter-filmerna), men mest av allt bär filmen kanske ändå spår av dess producent Steven Spielberg. Något som den legendariska filmkritikern Roger Ebert tog fasta på i sin recension för Chicago-Sun Times:
“There used to be children’s movies and adult movies. Now Spielberg has found an in-between niche, for young teenagers who have fairly sophisticated tastes in horror. He supervises the formula and oversees the production, assigning the direction to stylish action veterans (this time, it’s Richard Donner, of Superman and Ladyhawke). Goonies, like Gremlins, walks a thin line between the cheerful and the gruesome, and the very scenes the adults might object to are the ones the kids will like the best: Spielberg is congratulating them on their ability to take the heavy-duty stuff. […] There are lots of special effects and among the set pieces are the same kinds of booby traps that Indiana Jones survived in Raiders of the Lost Ark (falling boulders, sharp spikes), and a toboggan ride on a water chute that will remind you of the runaway train in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. […] Another Spielberg trademark, faithfully achieved by Donner, is a breakneck narrative speed. More things happen in this movie than in six ordinary action films. There’s not just a thrill a minute; there’s a thrill, a laugh, a shock, and a special effect.” (1)
