About the role

As a Community Host, you will staff our reception and be the first person members and visitors meet when they walk through the doors of A house. You are passionate about service and are a key person to ensure relationship building and personalized treatment, something we attach great importance to at A house. It is therefore crucial that you thrive in and are energized by social contexts. We also believe that you are a structured multitasker who likes to check off to-do lists. The front desk is the destination’s hub, playing a vital role in facilitating collaboration between all members at A house. This role, like all roles at A House, requires the courage to develop and challenge traditional ways of doing things. It involves daring to initiate and act on change so that we remain relevant and true to our shared vision. As the role is culture-building and hands-on, we believe that you will be suitable as a Community Host if you have previous experience from service, retail, café, event, reception or as an office manager. Reports to: House & Community Manager.

Huvudsakliga arbetsuppgifter

● The face of the company! Consistently performing at your best and remaining available to our customers with a warm and personal approach.
● Onboarding and offboarding members and ensuring our systems are updated with correct member information.
● Keeping food and beverage coolers stocked and fresh, and ensuring coffee & tea are available.
● Guide bids, receive deliveries, and inform recipients.
● Purchase office supplies and products for the kiosk and other member activities.
● Maintaining the kiosk, managing orders, and suggesting new products.
● Keeping common areas, such as meeting rooms, the lobby, and the kitchen, representative, intact, clean, and functional.
● Supporting the rest of the team with member activities and programming such as after-work events, exhibitions, or hosted lunches.
● Regularly walking through the house to ensure everything is in order and escalating any needs.
● Managing supplies of office goods such as pens and paper, and maintaining order in storage rooms.
● Assisting in preparing breakfast for members on Thursdays.
● Supporting conferences and external events as needed and when time permits, e.g., by fetching refreshments/lunch, arranging furniture for conferences, meeting customers at the start, and setting up refreshment buffets.
● Preparing simple food for sale or service as needed, such as smoothies, sandwiches, eggs, or other snacks.
● Serving as the eyes and ears of the house and escalating thoughts, ideas, and needs from members.
● Ensuring that checklists and service manuals are kept up to date.
● Serving as one of the contact persons for facility managers and taking responsibility for reporting faults and following up on various property issues.
● Other minor or major tasks within the scope of reception services may be added as time permits.

Kontakter och samarbeten

Requires strong collaboration with others within A house, internal members, and external customers. Contact with external suppliers such as food wholesalers, property maintenance staff, etc.

Arbetsförhållanden

Scheduled work with a weekly rota (the schedule varies but includes opening/closing). This usually includes one early morning per week to prepare breakfast and, once per month, a late evening that is compensated with time off in lieu.

Salary by agreement.
