The future of transport in big cities

COMMUNITY. Innovation among A house members extends far beyond Sweden’s borders: meet micromobility start-up Bicelo! In southern Europe, their electric bikes are a primary way for tourists to get around and discover the cultural life of big cities. We took a ride with founder Anders Brusewitz Dahlberg, member of Börshuset.

Pling-pling! Tell us about Bicelo?

– My co-founder Jakob Hultman and I ran the BIKEID bicycle brand for 10 years, and we often received requests from hotels that wanted to offer bicycles to their guests. Since ours were not optimal for sharing and the hotels didn’t take care of them, it rarely worked out. The solution was Bicelo – a service with electric bikes tailored for hotels, where we take care of everything from the rental process (via app) to service and support.

What are your future plans?

– In the short term, it’s mostly about continuing our expansion in Spain, where we are currently very strong in Barcelona and Mallorca. In the longer term, we want to be able to offer our service in as many cities and areas as possible, including outside Spain. Many hotels are part of a chain, which makes it much easier when we launch in a new city.

When you hop on one of Bicelo’s e-bikes, you can also enjoy their audio guides to help you navigate the sights and learn about historical events and local heroes.

– It’s actually another Stockholm startup, Trales, that is the brain behind the audio guides. They have simply mapped out interesting places, people and events in a city, which our customers can then listen through as they swish along.

Are e-bikes the future of transport in big cities?

– Yes.

Where do you find inspiration?

– In addition to news in e-biking, everything related to travel, hospitality and guest experiences will of course be interesting.

How did you end up at A house Börshuset?

– I moved to Gamla Enskede with my family two years ago, so when A house Börshuset opened it became quite natural for me; having home, work, gym and the children’s school within 500 meters is a hard-to-beat everyday luxury when trying to put together the life puzzle! Then I really appreciate the atmosphere here with fantastic staff and nice premises.

Where do you have lunch in Slaktis?

– This time of year it’s mostly here at A house Börshuset, there is often good food!

What music do you play?

– I’m mostly in the lobby, so it’s all in the hands of the girls in the rehearsal and their musical mood for the day, haha.

What is Stockholm’s best cycle track?

– Everything that is along the water.

Tips for keeping up with cycling in winter?

– Warm clothes… ;)
