What is the future of coworking?
An interview with A house Creative Director Richard Hammarskiöld.
An excerpt from ICON Magazine with our Creative Director Richard Hammarskiöld, where he delves into the topic of the new age office.
What is the future of coworking?
– For starters, coworking is just one of the tools in the A house toolbox. Sometimes we are compared to other more traditional coworking spaces. But places that only share a meeting room, coffee station and reception are incredibly boring. So I think coworking is becoming a parenthesis in the history books.
There is an exciting future for the more holistic approach, embracing whole buildings and neighborhoods. Only then will it have real impact. What’s interesting is how we can create a community where people feel a sense of belonging and can find resources and talents around them. We have created environments that are very idiosyncratic and personal. We have developed something that is more like a home than an office for many people who are there. From our perspective, we always work in a niche concept. We curate our content and try to find those who are best suited to develop the destination for better results. Tenants should be prepared to collaborate, share resources and work more openly than they usually do. We believe in building community and creating a sense of belonging, as well as a loyalty to the place. To achieve collaboration and development, and the opportunity to share resources, it helps to be in the same industry. When you bring together companies in different niches, it becomes a nice ecosystem.
