TakeOver at OMAKA
TakeOver is a collective of female chefs, initiated in 2014 to create a network for women in gastronomy. Having cooked all over Sweden, for the 23rd edition of TakeOver’s guest chef nights the collective brought the concept to OMAKA – Ark’s in-house brewery-restaurant, founded by Hedda Spendrup.
Each of the six courses was prepared with a corresponding beer in mind by OMAKA’s brewmaster Hedda Spendrup: the menu offered Mamma, Bretzel, Betong, Peppar Peppar, Cerise and Afrodite. One of the chefs went even further, making use of the brewery’s spent grain as part of their dish.
Being a destination for food, we were excited to see this collaboration come about and for more women to be highlighted for their gastronomic work.
The six chefs for the evening were Hanna Claesson, chef at OMAKA. Frida Nilsson, Concept & Quality Development Head Chef for the ESS Group. Christin Kashou, Junior Sous Chef at Surfers Stockholm. Agnes Fällman, Head Chef at Sparrow. Lisa Löner, founder of TakeOver and chef at her own restaurant Lisa Fine Home Dining. Clara Häggkvist, Chef and Sommelier at her own restaurant Cissi & Clara.
